I always thought it was odd to use 'fell asleep' as a euphemism for death, here Paul uses it when he's talking about witnesses to Jesus' resurrection. Apparently believers expect to one day 'wake up' from death.

That Paul's a perceptive one, he says that if there is no resurrection of the dead then Christ cannot have been raised, making the preaching futile and the preachers false witnesses against God.

When the dead are resurrected they will have a heavenly body, different from their earthly body as the flesh cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven.

Paul ends with a request for money for the saints in Jerusalem and some details of his travel plans before wishing a curse on those with no love for the Lord.
