Vegetarians and meat-eaters should get along and not judge each other because God will judge us all.

Paul takes his leave of Rome and plans to head back to Jerusalem, handing over to a variety of men and women who have helped him and warning the converts to avoid people who may disagree with them (don't want to be hearing any differing opinions while still establishing your new religion).

An interesting metaphor, Paul says that the Gentiles he has been preaching to are wild olive branches that have been grafted onto a cultivated olive tree where natural branches have been removed. Paul is saying that they could not survive without the root of their religion so shouldn't turn against the Jews who won't convert.

God has given everyone different gifts, and these gifts must be used. It doesn't say how to work out what gift you have, just use it correctly.

Paul weaves in some instructions to follow what the government tells you to do (and pay your taxes), apparently governments are servants of God and have God's authority to deal with wrongdoers, this comes straight after telling us not to get revenge ourselves but to be nice to our enemies and let God deal with them.

More of the typical anti-humanity attitude, Paul has some very negative things to say about living according to 'flesh', an example is that he says that the outlook of the flesh is death, but that of the spirit is love and peace. And that the outlook of the flesh is hostile to God, why did he bother making it then?

Paul attempts to justify the fact that his new religion considers the Jews not righteous, even though God apparently chose them initially. Apparently they were trying to attain righteousness by following the laws rather than just having faith.

Paul attempts to remove the importance of circumcision by pointing out that Abraham was uncircumcised when he received his revelations from God, so it is faith alone that is important to be considered righteous.

Just as Adam's sin condemned all people, so Jesus' righteous sacrifice will bring many to a righteous path.

Apparently Paul is presenting his argument in human terms because of the limitations of his audience, perhaps it would make more sense if he hadn't.

The old law is still important because it allowed people to know what sin was (like that awful sin of wanting what others have, y'know that evil little bedrock of capitalism).

Paul claims that he always wanted to visit Rome (in order to preach to them), considering he thought he was going to die when he went to Jerusalem, it can only have been a desire he developed during his years under arrest.

Paul says that by denying God's existence, non-believers are in fact suppressing the truth and ignoring lots of really clear evidence, and have no excuse for such behaviour. So for daring to worship the creation instead of the creator, God made them do whatever their depraved minds wanted (which apparently included committing 'immoral' sexual acts), and for this they deserve to die.
