John 13-15

Jesus washes the disciples feet to teach them something about humility, and apparently they only need their feet washed to be clean.

Nothing much else that hasn't already been said.

Your Spiritual Eyes

Dear atheist, I am thrilled to know that you are reading the Bible, for in it are the words of true life...spiritual and eternal life. However, they can only be seen with spiritual eyes. Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3 that he must be born again and that this new birth was a birth of the spirit. Therefore, you cannot see the things of God in His Word until your spirit is brought to life through the new birth. Jesus also told Nicodemus that the Spirit was like the wind, you can't see it and you can't tell it where to blow and you can't tell when it's coming or where it comes from. You can only see it's effect. Therefore, you must pray for God's spirit to blow on you and to open your spiritual eyes through the new birth so that you can see the glory of Christ and see the beauty of what He has done for you. In addition to praying and continuing to read the Bible, I would highly recommend reading "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis who was a former atheist turned Christian. It may be helpful for you in your quest for truth. I am praying for you as Paul prayed for the Ephesians that the eyes of your heart would be enlightened.
