David presides over the slaughter of many people, one battle kills 40,700 of the enemy.
David fancies another man's wife (broken commandment: coveting), sleeps with her & makes her pregnant (broken commandment: adultery) & then gets her husband killed in battle (just nasty) so he can have her for himself. It isn't until all of this has occurred that God steps in, all displeased. The child of David and his mistress is killed but they quickly conceive another son, also all of David's wives have to sleep with his neighbour in front of everyone.
Actually there is one nice thing David does, he decides to find a living relative of Saul to honour Jonathan and finds Jonathan's disabled son and gives him Saul's land, some servants, and invites him to eat at David's table whenever he wants.
