Paul and his followers have powerful weapons to tear down arguments against God, and they take thoughts captive to make them obey Christ (no freethinking in Paul's church). People say that Paul is forceful in writing but weak in person.

Paul is worried that the newly-converted will be led astray by someone with a better offer, a legitimate concern as these people were already converted once they are probably open to anything.

Paul has suffered more for Jesus than most, he is therefore more of a servant of Christ than many others, he's been imprisoned more, beaten more, and faced death many times (he's not boasting though).

If your earthly home is dismantled, you still have an eternal, heavenly dwelling built by God. You have to appear before Christ's seat of judgement first to get your pay back for your actions in life.

Believers should separate themselves from non-believers because there is no possibility of a partnership between them, as they share nothing in common.

Paul's previous letter made the Corinthians sad, and Paul is glad because God has to make people sad in order to convert them.

Paul is going to redistribute the wealth of the Corinthians to the extremely poor Macedonians, because then there will be equality, this sounds reasonable to me. Paul seems to feel he needs to encourage them to give as they already promised, if they change their mind then he will be humiliated.

Paul is not going to make a second visit to the Corinthians because his last visit upset them.

Paul and the other leaders are not like the people who peddle the word of God for profit, which sets them apart as being sincere and truly sent by God.

Paul says that Moses' ministry of carved letters on stone tablets produced death, but his ministry of the spirit is removing the veil from the minds of people who followed Moses' laws.

Paul and his followers suffer in Jesus' name, but they continue with their mission because they'll be raised up and experience eternal glory, I guess they are doing it for a promised reward.
