The first part of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat Ornamental Tunic (after a load more boring begats detailing Jacob's brother's lineage)

* The musical is actually fairly accurate, Joseph is the favourite of his father and has two dreams that annoy his brothers so they plot his demise (not beyond these people, they slaughtered a city yesterday), only difference to this point is that the brothers don't profit from Joseph being sold into slavery, some other people come and sell him themselves while the brothers are away from the pit they put Joseph in.

Yes, I am listening to the appropriate songs from the soundtrack, makes the whole story much more fun to follow.

If you were reading the Bible and not the skeptics commentary and skimming the Bible, you might've noticed that Judah conviced the other 8 brothers to sell Joseph while Reuben(the oldest) was not there. Reuben later returned to the pit where Joseph was left before intending to fetch him out and return him to Jacob only to find him missing. 9 brothers did profit from this, and 1 was left with a higher level of guilt than the others. I started reading this journal with thoughts of commending you for your efforts, but now I realize, you are not really reading it, but just enough to claim with indignation: "I have read the bible, and it is meaningless to me and reality." You are not even reading it for personal knowledge sake. When I read a book that I don't agree with, I take extra care to read it and understand it for what it is supposed to be. I took this same approach with the book of mormon, the gospels of Thomas, Mary, and Judas, as well as books on atheism and evolution. Though I disagree with the examples I have listed, taking care to understand them and why others completely agree with them makes me a better person I believe and helps me be friends with those I vehemently disagree with. To "read" something just so you can say you "read" it, profits no one. If you really want to understand you'll dispense with your "commentary" and actually read the Bible word for word. That said, I wouldn't blame you for skimming some during the begats and the law, but, especially while reading the pauline epistles, having paid at least loose attention to the law starts to make the whole book seem to make more sense. If you want to email me, spyder525@yahoo.com is my email. I would gladly discuss anything with you in an understanding and non-condemning manner. My hope is that you could also help me understand things better. Take care and never narrow your view or close your mind to understanding.
