God says, take dictation Jeremiah.

Soon the people will be able to prosper again and anyone who tries to oppress them will be punished, once they're done with being oppressed by the people God allows to do such things.

The people of Israel are the children that God takes delight in, he's fond of them and has pity for them even though he has to punish them occasionally. Which is like a parent of course, but if God made the whole planet and all the people, why are the people of Israel the only ones he sees as his children?

People will die for their own sins under the new covenant that God will make. Comforting, I guess?

Jerusalem will be bigger and better than before and will never be torn down or destroyed again. What's the definition of destroyed, exactly?

God didn't chose israel per se after adam and eve people either follow God or they didn't God brought the flood and the tower of babel to try to get rid of the evil in the world.but people kept chosing there own way.God had promised he wouldn't wipe out mankind again so he began to search for one righteous man to follow after him and become what he had intended mankind to be like. He found abram. Abram was the only godly man he could find so he told abram if he followed him he would make his decendants into a nation. He said he would so God changed his name to abraham which means father of many. He told abraham if he continued to follow after him he would make him into a great nation. That nation is israel today. Out of one man's faithfulness God brought a nation. So it wasn't favoritism on God's part necessarily he just wanted one average human being to live their life completely for him. That is just one example of how much God loves us and wants to do great things with us if we r willing to let him.there was nothing special about abraham other than his devotion to God. God likes to use the ordinary things and ppl to make awesome things happen.
