Jeremiah 49-50
Oct. 3rd, 2010 08:46 pmEsau's descendents will now be punished, because God decided it was time, I guess God needed a change from punishing Jacob's descendents, though maybe destroying every other nearby nation should have been enough.
Apparently when Babylon is destroyed noone will ever be able to live on the land, for all time. But apparently what was Babylon is now part of Iraq.

Date: 2010-10-05 10:00 pm (UTC)Ammon was to be conquered by the people of Israel and their god Milcolm (an idol) could not help them.
Edom (the descendants of Esau, son of Isaac, son of Abraham) would also be destroyed.
Damascus would be conquered.
Kedar would be attacked by Nebuchadnezzar
Elam would be conquered, but would return to their land at some point.
Babylon will be captured. Babylon's idol Marduk could not help them. At this time, the people of Israel would be able to return to their land (their captivity in Babylon would end). This did occur; after Cyrus the Great conquered Babylon, he allowed Nehemiah to return to Jerusalem, made him a governor and he began to rebuild Jerusalem.
Babylon would be attacked by many enemies, eventually falling. Babylon will become an uninhabited city. Babylon has been in ruins for centuries. Saddam Hussein was attempting to rebuild it, but now that he is dead, any efforts to rebuild have ceased and it has fallen into ruin again.
