God is really mean to Hosea, he tells him to marry a prostitute and then gives all their children really sarky names.

God is going to destroy the crops because the people of Israel were using them to worship other gods instead of acknowledging that their good fortune at the harvest is due to God.

He will give everything back eventually, and he will also get rid of all the weapons of war.

God is greater than we will ever be. We are like little ants who truly lack understanding. His purposes and ways are far beyond our comprehension. Zen, your response is very understandable. All I know is that He is good and He created us for a purpose. If you read the bible as a whole and open your heart to Him, He will show you truth and it will set you free! Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God!
