Paul is not going to make a second visit to the Corinthians because his last visit upset them.
Paul and the other leaders are not like the people who peddle the word of God for profit, which sets them apart as being sincere and truly sent by God.
Paul says that Moses' ministry of carved letters on stone tablets produced death, but his ministry of the spirit is removing the veil from the minds of people who followed Moses' laws.
Paul and his followers suffer in Jesus' name, but they continue with their mission because they'll be raised up and experience eternal glory, I guess they are doing it for a promised reward.

God is the Reward
Date: 2011-01-22 04:02 pm (UTC)I guess if I didn't know the Truth of God or His love for me, it wouldn't seem like much of a reward. But, the more I understand, the more I want to learn then the more I want to persevere.
I do have to be careful not to "do" because I want the reward but, because in all of my growing knowledge of God's love for me, I grow in my love of Him. And in return wanting to be with Him.
All of this should translate to my love of people.
