God's rules for justice, growing crops and buying people and things.
* A blasphemer is stoned to death by Moses and his people (because God said so) just prior to God bringing up his "eye for an eye" style of justice. Not sure how someone cursing deserves death, and since when has God ever dealt justice equal to the crime?
* Here's something that would require a lot of faith to follow, God says that they should sow and harvest their crops for six years and leave the land to lie in the seventh year. God says they won't go hungry because God will give them three years worth of crops in the sixth year so they'll have food till the ninth year. That's convenient.

I happened across your journal through youversion, and found it pretty cool that you were openly discussing your thoughts. I'm definitely not a biblical scholar either, and I'm feeling too lazy at the moment (it's 2am after all) to go find references for some of the deeper points, but I figured I might as well comment on some of the simpler points that come up.
