Proverbs 4-6

Wisdom and instruction are female apparently, and both should be sought or followed in order to gain glory and get plenty of sleep.

There is a truly evil woman who shouldn't be sought and you should avoid being seduced by because she will drag you to hell, and that is a strange woman, or one that isn't your wife. Your wife should be enough to satisfy you if you want to avoid a horrible punishment (rather than, y'know, it just being right to be faithful).

There are 6 (or 7, the bible's not sure) bad behaviours that God particularly hates, which range from those I'd agree with him on like shedding innocent blood and speaking lies to spread discord, to ones that don't seem like they are actually worth the same punishments like looking proud and coming up with evil plans (it doesn't say anything about going through with them).

Comment on your last paragraph, I think that might be what Jesus was talking about when the Jews were proud of not "sinning" but he listed off a bunch of ways to sin that they didn't include. I think one of them was they were proud of not killing innocent people, but Jesus said that it is just as bad to kill them in your thoughts... That sinning starts in the heart before it actually gets executed some times.
