Proverbs 22-23
Aug. 27th, 2010 11:56 pmSome clarification at the start of 22 on the topic of my confusion yesterday, it does seem that the verse meant that integrity is better than being rich. Which I'd agree with.
22:6 could just be about teaching children right from wrong, but also sounds like a tip for indoctrination as it says children taught a 'way to go' will continue to go that way when adults. Also, you should beat any foolishness out of them.
23 is mostly repeats of previous chapters, we have another warning against binge drinking, more about corporal punishment and we hear again about those scary strange women who will prey on unsuspecting men.

Date: 2010-08-28 01:47 pm (UTC)When the Bible speaks of teaching a child the "way to go" it isn't just about teaching them the bible. You teach a child to not touch a hot stove or to climb the bookcase. You teach your child not to lie or steal or murder. All of these are examples of a "way to go" that hopefully they will follow when they are adults. Just thought I'd share that. =)
