Paul is so noble, ready to be martyred in the name of Jesus, but just because people are willing to die for a cause that doesn't mean they are right.
And as he predicted he is attacked by a mob of Jews and nearly beaten to death before a Roman military leader steps in and tries to find out what is going on before allowing Paul to speak to the crowd. He ends up being released because he is a Roman citizen and has the right to a fair trial.
More people plot against him and the Romans transport him to safety quietly.
